Displayed is a beautiful, unique, hand-painted Cincinnati Bengals chair, from the 1970s-80s. The wooden chair is entirely hand-painted in a folk art style. The chair is from an earlier period, but the painting was done in the later part of the 20th century. The Cincinnati Bengals were an AFL expansion team that began play in 1968. This franchise was founded and initially owned and coached by Paul Brown. There was an earlier Cincinnati Bengals professional team which played from 1937-41 and played in the American Football League II and subsequently in other professional leagues. The Cincinnati Bengals continue to play in the NFL, and while they have never won a Super Bowl, they have captured three Conference Championships. Cincinnati Bengals Pro Football Hall of Famers: Charlie Joiner (wide receiver), Anthony Munoz (offensive tackle), Terrell Owens (wide receiver), and Ken Riley (defensive back). The chair is 32.5" high, and its seat measures 14.6" wide and 15.2" deep. The painting on the chair features the Bengals colors of orange and black, adding some gold. Much of the chair is painted in black, with orange trim. Across the front of the backrest is "Cincinnati" in gold lettering. The front of the seat has "Bengals" painted in orange script, and the back of the seat has the image of a Bengal helmet, in orange and black with a gold chin strap. The chair shows good use and yet is in fine condition. There are a number of places that have small paint chips and some more extensive chipping along the black-painted rungs in the lower part of the chair, but the chipping on the rungs is not very noticeable. The aforementioned imperfections of the chair are minor and do not mar the overall visual impression, which is absolutely charming for its vintage look.
