A set of collectibles from the opening ceremonies of the Brooklyn Bridge which took place on May 24th, 1883. The items are encased in a 17x25" frame. Included in the lot is an invitation to the event, which reads, "The Trustees of the New York and Brooklyn Bridge request the honor of the presence of Mr. William H. Story at the opening ceremonies to take place on Thursday, May 24th at two o'clock PM." Also included is the original envelope, ticket and program that were produced by Tiffany & Company. Displayed inside the frame is a CDV of the Brooklyn bridge designer, John Roebling. The items are in very nice condition, especially considering their 140+ year age and this is a rare opportunity to own a piece of New York City history.
