Presented is a November 25, 1950, Michigan vs. Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio at Ohio Stadium football game program and ticket stub to the famous Big Ten game that became known as the "Snow Bowl." Ohio State had gone to the Rose Bowl after the 1949 season, and under Big Ten Conference rules at that time, the conference champion could not go to the Rose Bowl two years in a row. If Ohio State won this '51 game, most likely Wisconsin would be sent to the Rose Bowl, and if Michigan won the game, the Wolverines themselves would achieve the Rose Bowl bid. By the morning of the game, a terrific snowstorm had already left four feet of snow on the tarp that covered the field, and it was snowing at the rate of two inches per hour. Both coaches, Bennie Oostermann of Michigan and Wes Felser of Ohio State, wanted to cancel the game, but the schools wanted the contest to take place, so the grounds crew and many volunteers, including Boy Scouts, shoveled the snow off the tarp, and the game began nearly two-and-a-half hours late. Michigan made no first downs and punted 24 times. Ohio State passed for only 18 yards, gained only 16 yards on the ground, and punted 21 times, with four of the punts blocked. Although the 1950 Heisman Trophy winner, Vic Janowicz, made a 38-yard field goal for Ohio State, Michigan scored on a safety and a blocked and recovered punt and added the extra point to win 9-3. The program has 54 pages, including covers, and it measures 7.75x10.5". It is in EXCELLENT condition. The ticket stub to the game measures 2.2x4.5". It reads, in part, "MICHIGAN versus OHIO STATE 2:00 P.M. Ohio Stadium/SATURDAY NOV. 25/$3.50 SOUTH STANDS." It features an image of a Boy Scout.
