Ornate white robe is a special keepsake from the 1960 Tour of Japan. Given to a member of the San Francisco Giants by the Japanese as a souvenir to honor the tour. Adorned with “S.F.” and Japanese characters down the front lapels. On back, in English, is “Giants” with decorative baseball art behind it. Six identical circular designs adorned with sail boat and “1860-1960” in the center outlined by “Japan – U.S. Centennial” go all the way around the robe. “Custom Made Tani Shirt Inc., Tokyo Japan” tag in collar. Some staining from wear. A great piece marking an historical event bridging the gap between American and Japanese baseball.
