An original pen and ink cartoon drawn by artist Larry Semon. The cartoon features Tammany Hall businessman James Gaffney and oil magnate Harry Sinclair offering to buy the New York Giants from Harry Hempstead. Gaffney, who owned the Boston Braves from 1912-16, had shown interest in purchasing the franchise. The 7x18" cartoon is entitled, Going! Going! Well? In the end, the duo would not purchase the New York Giants with Hempstead instead selling the team to Charles Stoneham, another member of the Tammany Hall political machine, in 1919.
