Displayed is an Official American League Ball (Barnard) that is multi-signed by Hall of Famers: Babe Ruth, Ernie Lombardi, Lou Gehrig, Walter Johnson, and Jimmie Foxx; and Keys: Mule Haas, Bing Miller, Joe Boley, and Mike Martin. The Hall of Fame signatures on the Reach (Model Pat Re 17200) ball represent a total of 1,559 home runs: Ruth (714), Foxx (534), Gehrig (493), Lombardi (190), plus pitcher Walter Johnson (24). The two pitchers signing the ball, counting Ruth's pitching, won as many games together as did the all-time MLB wins leader, Cy Young (511), as Walter Johnson's 417 wins and Ruth's 94 victories together add up to Young's 511. A Mike Martin signature is on the ball, but he was not a Major League player. The ball has darkened, and some parts of the "skin" have rubbed off. These imperfections make some of the above-mentioned signatures legible, but very light. Some of the non-listed signatures are no longer legible. The signatures have been made with blue ink from a steel-tip fountain pen. The offering comes with a photocopied image of Ruth signing autographs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on an unspecified date. The multi-signed ball comes with a PSA LOA for the signatures.
