A large collection, 120 pieces, of original art pieces by Phil Bissell. The majority of the pieces were published in the Lowell Sun and concern local Massachusetts politics. There is a range in sizes, but the most common are 12x13", 12x16", and 7x14". The majority of the cartoons are from the 1980s. Some of the figures included in the photos are Michael Dukakis, the Governor of Massachusetts during the time period, and Democratic senators Ted Kennedy and Paul Tsongas. Bissell, who also worked for the Boston Globe is most well-known for creating the Pat Patriot mascot for the Patriots in 1960. The original concept is still used today.
