He is known as "Charlie Hustle," and Pete Rose got the utmost out of his natural ability, hustling his way to 4,256 hits to become baseball's all-time "Hit King." Displayed is a mid-1980s Pete Rose Cincinnati Reds' game worn cap. Rose played for 24 Major League seasons: Cincinnati Reds (1963-78 & 1984-86), Philadelphia Phillies (1979-83), Montreal Expos (1984). He managed Cincinnati for seven seasons, three of those as a player/manager. Rose was a 17-time All-Star, a 3-time batting champion, and a 3-time World Series winner. He has a .303 career batting average. The red cap has a white "C" on front. The sweatband has three tags: New Era Pro Model manufacturer's tag, MLB Diamond Collection, and size 7 1/4. There is a faded "14," Rose's number, written in black marker inside, on the front mesh. The cap shows great use, with a lot of sweat staining inside, yet the cap remains in nice overall condition. The cap dates from Rose's second playing stint with the Reds, 1984-86. Rose signed the brim, using a fine tip black marker, and displaying his usual big and bold, neat, signature.
