Cleveland Cavaliers road jersey issued for use by LeBron James during the 2009-10 season. This jersey was never worn by James, but the reason he never wore it is directly related to its provenance. The jersey has been consigned by the former director of sales/marketing development at American Classic Outfitters, the company that manufactured all the Adidas jerseys at the time. Every year, Adidas produced an extra jersey for some of the league's high-profile players, as a backup in case one was needed by the club at the last minute. This was the extra produced for James that year, but it was never called into action. As a result, our consignor kept it after the season as a souvenir and it has remained in his possession since that time. It must be noted that the offered jersey is identical to the ones worn by James during the 2009-10 season, making it an affordable example for budget-conscious LeBron James collectors. The burgundy jersey is lettered "Cavs" across the front and features the number "23" on the front and reverse. "James" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All front letters are applied in gold on white tackle twill, while all reverse letters are applied in gold tackle twill. All numerals are applied in white on gold tackle twill. Located on the front left tail are the following labels/tags: 1) Adidas label bearing the Cavaliers team logo and NBA logo; 2) Cav-Fanatic tag; 3) size 50 tag; 4) 2009-2010 year tag; and 5) tag reading "+2 Length." The jersey is original as issued and shows no use. Together with a letter of provenance from the consignor.
