Displayed is a complete bowling outfit that we attribute PBA Hall of Famer Norm Duke to wearing in the 1996 Johnny Petraglia Open in Piscataway, New Jersey, when Duke set an all-time PBA record, still extant, by throwing three consecutive perfect (300) games, achieved over two rounds. The outfit includes shoes and socks, pants, belt, and shirt. Norm Duke, at 18 years and 345 days old, won the PBA's Cleveland Open in 1983, and became, and still remains, the youngest PBA Tournament Champion in history. He has won 40 titles on the PBA TOUR, including seven Major Championships, and he is one of only three bowlers to have won at least 40 PBA titles. Now bowling on the PBA50 TOUR, Duke has won six PBA50 titles, including two Majors. He was thrown 73 perfect (300) games in PBA events. Duke did not make the finals of the 1966 Johnny Petraglia Open, but his amazing three consecutive games is awe inspiring. The Norm Duke outfit: 1) A pair of Dexter bowling shoes. On the outer side of each shoe is a Dexter manufacturer's tag. Under the sole of each shoe is an imprinted "DEXTER" and an imprinted "Dexter Support System Non-marking." On the upper tongue of each shoe is another Dexter manufacturer's tag. Inside both shoes is a size 8 tag. Duke used a black marker to sign the left side of the left shoe. Both shoes exhibit cracking in the outer layer. The shoes show wear, yet still display nicely. Also included is a pair of tan socks, each approx. 17" in length and showing good wear. Also, in the outfit is a pair of tan slacks. There is no manufacturer's tag or size tag. The pleated slacks measure approx. 28" at the waist and have an inseam measurement of about 28". The pants show very light wear and are in nice condition. The included belt is brown/black reversible. It has a length, not including the buckle, of approx. 36.5". It shows light wear. The colorful, checkered shirt has a Fizzaro manufacturer's tag in the neck as well as a size "M" tag. Adjacent size to the Fizzaro tag is a tag that reads 100% cotton. The left sleeve has a PBA TOUR patch. On back, in embroidered white lettering of between approx. 1.5-4.0" is scripted "Norm Duke." The entire outfit makes a fine offering from a time when Norm Duke was perfect - THREE TIMES in a ROW!
