A program from the twentieth running of the Pimlico Futurity in 1942. The red, white, and blue program measures 4"x8.5" and could be purchased for 10 cents. It is in fantastic shape for its age. The item reads on the cover, Army Emergency Relief Day at the Maryland Jockey Club, Pimlico Race Course. The net proceeds from the event were given to the Army to support the war effort. The winner of the race was Count Fleet, who in the next year would take home the Triple Crown by winning the 1943 Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes. The program is exceedingly rare and an important part of horse racing history.
