Presented is an April 9, 2002, San Francisco Giants ticket to the game against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates in which Barry Bonds hit his 600th home run. Barry Bonds is the son of Bobby Bonds, who was a star outfielder with the San Francisco Giants. Barry is also the godson of the recently deceased Willie Mays, Hall of Fame center fielder, mostly for the New York/San Francisco Giants. Barry Bonds played 22 Major League seasons: Pittsburgh Pirates (1985-92), San Francisco Giants (1993-2007). He batted a career .296 with 2,935 hits and 514 stolen bases. However, Barry's most noteworthy statistic is what makes him the all-time MLB home run king: 762 home runs. In the aforementioned August 9th game, Bonds homered to deep center field with none on and two outs in the bottom of the 6th inning off Pittsburgh starter, and winner, Kip Wells. It was the 33rd home run of the season for Bonds in the 4-3 Pittsburgh win. The ticket measures 2x5.5". It reads, in part, "GIANTS/SRO 19 Stand/FRI Aug 09 2002, 7:35 PM Pacific Bell Park/ San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates/9.00." The ticket has been encapsulated and PSA Graded "FULL VG-EX 4".
