A Louisville Slugger bat used by former Los Angeles Dodger MVP Maury Wills during the 1960s. The bat, which measures 34" long and weighs 31 ounces, shows tremendous use with a crack in the barrel and two small evident. Wills number 30 is written in black on the knob, pine tar on the handle, and several seam impressions on the barrel. In addition to winning the MVP Award in 1962, Wills was a three-time World Series Champion, made 7 All-Star teams, and led the Major Leagues in stolen bases for 6 straight seasons, from 1960-65. The former Dodger, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 89, is often considered to be one of the greatest players not to be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
