Presented is a 1961 New York Yankees Balfour World Series press pin PSA MINT 9. The pin exudes great eye appeal. The 1961 season was magical for the Bronx Bombers. Not only did the Yankees comfortably win the AL Pennant, but the regular season featured an amazing race for the all-time single-season home run record of 60, set by Babe Ruth in 1927, that gave Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle the opportunity to beat Ruth's mark. Mantle fell out of contention to beat Ruth when in September as Mickey missed games with an abscess on his hip. Maris beat Ruth's mark when the young right fielder hit homer number 61 in the season's last game. Then, in the World Series, the Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds for the World Championship. The metal press pin has a diameter of one inch. In the middle of pin is a blue Yankee cap over crossed bats. The press pin reads, "WORLD SERIES/1961/YANKEE STADIUM/PRESS." The back has a screw-on circular fastener. On the back, BALFOUR is machine printed at the bottom. The pin has been encapsulated and PSA graded (#60647816) as MINT 9.
