The basketball shape above the top of the award is 12" in diameter. Text engraved into the glass reads: "HALO AWARD, Rookie of the Year, 1993, SHAQUILLE O'NEAL, ORLANDO MAGIC, National Basketball Players Association." A Little City Foundation and NBA Players Association logo are etched into the glass above the text. There are two small chips on the front corners of the base of the award.
