Presented are two Marilyn Monroe 20th Century Fox Type I original photographs. Monroe became one of Hollywood's greatest all-time stars in the 1950s and early 1960s. Often playing a "blonde bombshell," she was in such famous films as Some Like It Hot, The Seven Year Itch, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, Bus Stop, All About Eve, and The Misfits. She won two Golden Globe Awards, including a 1960 win as Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for Some Like It Hot, and two Golden Globe nominations. 1) A 1962 8x10" black & white photograph of Monroe, a publicity still for the movie "Something's Got to Give." Monroe was married to Hall of Fame baseball player Joe DiMaggio and noted playwright Arthur Miller. Her films grossed over 200 million dollars, equal to about two billion dollars today. She has a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. 1) A Type I original 20th Century Fox black & white photograph, a 1962 publicity still for the movie Something's Got to Give. Monroe was missing many days of shooting for various reasons, and she was fired from the picture and then rehired, but she died from an overdose of barbiturates on August 4, 1962, before the movie could be completed. The back of the photo has a Brown Brothers (photographer) stamp. The margins of the photo exhibit some editing marks, and the photo shows some slight darkening in the margins because of the passage of time, but it is in otherwise fine condition. This photo comes with a PSA LOA. 2) A circa 1950s black & white 20th Century Fox Type I studio original publicity photo measuring 7.75x9.5". The photo shows some light foxing and exhibits some minor crinkling in the upper margins. The back of the photo has a Brown Brothers' photographers' stamp. The photo comes with a PSA LOA Certification. The two Type I photos are fitting mementos for one of Hollywood's most iconic actresses.
