Presented is a June 16, 1978, Cincinnati Reds' ticket stub from the Hall of Fame right-hander Tom Seaver's no-hit game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Seaver pitched in the Major Leagues from 1967-86, mostly for the New York Mets (1967-77 & 1983) and the Cincinnati Reds (1977-81). He had a 311-205 record, with a career ERA of 2.86. He was the 1967 NL Rookie of the Year, and he won three Cy Young Awards, and a 1969 World Championship with the New York Mets. Seaver's no-hitter, won 4-0, took place at Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium in a Friday night game before a crowd of 38,216. Seaver struck out three hitters and issued three walks. Leadoff hitter Pete Rose was the key Reds' batter as his 5th inning double drove in the game's first two runs. The ticket stub measures 2.25x2.75", and it reads, in part, CINCINNATI REDS/JUNE 16/Plaza Reserved $4.00/Fri. June 16, 8:05 p.m. The ticket stub has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as PR-FR 1 (MK).
