The item, given out to an unknown player, has a red and white ribbon and features the words "Canada Cup/Coupe Canada" on the front and the logos of the six participating countries (Canada, US, Finland, Sweden, USSR, and Czechoslovakia) on the back. The medal features some light scratches. The Canadian team defeated the American team to win the Cup despite injuries to Mario Lemieux, Ray Bourque, Steve Yzerman, Adam Oates, Joe Sakic, Cam Neely, and Patrick Roy.
