Presented is a Mark Grimmette full worn luge ensemble that includes helmet, shoes, gloves, top, and full-body suit. Grimmette participated in five Winter Olympics and won two medals in the men's doubles event - a silver in 2002 and a bronze in 1998. The black helmet includes "uvex" on the left and right side in white text. There is a "Bell Atlantic" sticker on the front of the helmet, and a size "XS" sticker on the back. The helmet has a fully adjustable chin strap and foam padding on the inside. The padding is fragile and is tearing at the top of the helmet. A pair of LaCrosse brand shoes are included in the lot and are identified as "size 39" by a tag on the inside. The black shoes have a 5" zipper on the top and are made of leather, or a leather-like material. Also included is a pair of "reusch" gloves. There is a tag printed on the inside of the right glove that includes the model/style number (1090) and size (9). Each glove has the reusch logo on the back of the hand, and the word "racing" on the index finger. The gloves measure 9.5" from top to bottom. The mostly yellow full-body suit includes two tags inside the suit. One tag includes the "Duofold" name and logo. The other tag is blank, and the name "Chris Thorpe" is written on the tag in black ink. There are several logos printed on the suit, including Duofold, USA Luge (2x), Bell Atlantic (2x), and York, (2x). Completing the ensemble is a white sleeveless top with "45/USA LUGE" printed across the chest and back, beneath the Bell Atlantic logo. Each item in the lot shows significant race-day use.
