Displayed is a Mickey Mantle signed letter that was written to new members of the "Mickey Mantle Collectors Club." Mantle holds the all-time record for home runs by a switch-hitter. with 536. The legendary Hall of Fame center fielder was a member of seven New York Yankee World Champions. The letter was typed on 8.5x11" white paper, and it has a Mickey Mantle letterhead that has a Mantle image, "Mickey Mantle," and Mantle's Dallas Texas business address. The letter is addressed as "Dear Joe" with the "Joe" handwritten by an unknown hand. In part, the letter reads, "As a major league rookie, you hope that one day your accomplishments on the field will merit the recognition of baseball fans. To be remembered so many years later by collectors, the most ardent fans of all is something I never dreamed would be possible." The letter is undated, and it's unclear when Mickey may have signed it. Mantle signed his name at the end using his classically beautiful script, writing in blue ink.
