Official American League (MacPhail) baseball signed by Thurman Munson on a side panel. Munson's signature has been scripted in blue felt-tip pen and grades 8/10. This ball appears to be game-used, as it is lightly soiled and displays a few black streaks consistent with game use. It is also a one-year-only style ball dating from the 1976 season, which, presumably, is when Munson signed it. Munson single-signed baseballs are scarce because he was not known as an accommodating signer during his career and, of course, his tragic death in a plane crash at the age of thirty-two in 1979. This is an outstanding example, with the added appeal of dating to his 1976 MVP season. Full LOA from PSA.
