Jose Canseco Boston Red Sox signed and inscribed game used bat is a Cooper model C243 and is dated by Canseco to the 5/19/96 game in which he hit career home run number 307 against his former team, the Oakland A's. Outstanding use is displayed with heavy tape or pine tire residue on the handle, and prominent ball marks on the barrel, including blue ink stamp transfers. Measuring 35" and weighing a hefty 35.25 ounces, number 33 is written on the knob twice in black marker, partially obscuring some of the ink-stamped information which includes 35", and "3(?) oz." Number is also written on the end in black marker. There are some thin scratches on the handle but we believe the bat is not cracked. The former Bash Brother signed in the space just below trademark and barrel stamp in barely-legible 2/10 blue marker with inscription, 1996 HR 307. That third inning solo shot helped boost the Sox to a 12-2 drubbing over the team on which Canseco started his 17-year MLB career, which ended with 462 round-trippers.
