Presented is a high-grade, Carl Furillo model Hutch fielder's glove from the early 1950s. Furillo played in the minors for the Reading (PA) Chicks, and he was so good that the Brooklyn Dodgers purchased the entire Reading franchise just so the Dodgers could have Furillo in the Brooklyn system. He was a right fielder, and his powerful throwing arm earned him the nickname of the Reading Rifle. He played his entire career for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers (1946-60). He was one of the famed Brooklyn Dodger "Boys of Summer." He batted .299 lifetime, with 192 home runs, and he was a part of seven National League pennant winners and the '55 and '59 Dodgers World Champions. The glove is in wonderful condition, looking as if it has never been used. Imprinted on the five-finger glove: It's Hutch Built/Oil Heated/Hutch Cincinnati, U.S.A. 36/CARL FURILLO MODEL. The glove measures 9" from the base of the heel to the tip of the third finger. It's very rare to find a glove of this age in this condition.
