Offered is a 1957 Chicago White Sox team-signed baseball with twenty-nine (29) autographs, including five (5) Hall of Famers: skipper Al Lopez (sweet spot), a Hall of Fame manager; Nellie Fox, second baseman; Luis Aparicio, shortstop; Larry Doby, an outfielder who was the first African American player in the American League; Minnie Minoso, an outfielder who played in the Major Leagues in five decades. In '57, the White Sox had a record of 90-64-1. Minoso batted .310, with 103 RBIs, Fox hit .317, and Billy Pierce won 20 games, and they finished in second place in the American League. They were a team on the rise, and as the '59 "Go-Go Sox" many of the same players on the '57 team led the White Sox to the AL Pennant, and in that season's World Series Chicago lost in six games to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Additional autographs: Jerry Staley, Dixie Howell, Tony Cuccinello (coach), John Cooney (coach), Walt Dropo, Bill Pierce, Earl Torgeson, Jack Harshman, Jim Hughes, Paul La Palme, Ted Beard, Bubba Phillips, and many more. The autos rate 8.5/10 overall. The Official American League Ball (Harridge) is in near mint condition. The item comes with its original paper ball bag, measuring approx. 2.3x6.2". The ball bag exhibits extensive wear, with small tears, some stains, and many folds. The five Hall of Fame autographs and the other White Sox stars make the signed ball a valued memento of the '57 White Sox.
