Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. holds baseball's consecutive game streak at 2,632 games, and offered is the opportunity to own and display a Cal Ripken Jr. signed official game-used lineup card, as a part of a beautiful display, from Ripken's Game 1,972 in the streak, with his Baltimore Orioles at Cleveland's Jacobs Field on June 29, 1994. Lou Gehrig, The Iron Horse, held the previous consecutive game record at 2,130, a mark that many baseball followers thought was impossible to break. In Ripken's Game 1,972, he batted fourth and played shortstop. He was 2-for-5 and a walk on the night, with two runs scored. The Orioles won, 7-6, in 10 innings, with Mark Eichhorn picking up the win in relief, and Hall of Famer Lee Smith earning the save. Of course, Ripken continued his streak all the way through September 18, 1998, before deciding to end it by sitting out the Orioles' game on September 20th against the New York Yankees. The offered lineup card measures 8.7x13.75". Machine-printed on the top of the lineup card is CLEVELAND INDIANS LINEUP CARD, except the letter "N" in CLEVELAND and the letter "C" in CARD are not visible because of punch holes in the card. An unknown hand has neatly printed the lineups for each team, using a blue marker for Cleveland and a red marker for Baltimore. Also, included in the display is a 7x9.5" color photo of Ripken batting at Baltimore's Camden Yards on the night he broke Gehrig's record, with the numerals "2131" seen over the right field scoreboard. In addition, the display has a 2x7" plaque reading, CAL RIPKEN JR./GAME 1,972/DATE 6/29/94/Original Game-Used Lineup Card. Cal Ripken Jr. signed the lineup card, using a fine tip black marker, with big and bold, neat script. The official game-used lineup card with the Ripken autograph, the photo, and the plaque have all been matted in a colorful, eye-catching display that measures 18.25x24.25". Full LOA from PSA (for the Ripken signature only)
