Presented is a great-looking Johnny Bench WLW 700 Coors All-Stars satin jacket, personally owned and worn by the Hall of Fame catcher. Bench played 17 Major League seasons, all with the Cincinnati Reds. He hit .267 lifetime, with 389 home runs. The 1968 NL Rookie of the Year, he was a 10-time Gold Glover, a 2-time NL MVP, and a 2-time World Champion. Bench was a key part of the famous 1970s Cincinnati Reds' Big Red Machine. WLW is a Cincinnati radio and television station founded by former Cincinnati Reds owner Powel Crosley Jr. WLW radio has been carrying the Cincinnati Reds' games since 1969. The WLW radio and television stations held charity softball events. Johnny Bench also owned a beer distributorship in Cincinnati. Coors sponsored these charity events, and Bench's distributorship also sponsored the same events. Bench played in these games, and this is the jacket that was given to him to wear. It's a beautiful jacket that's worthy of one of baseball's all-time best catchers. All of the lettering on the bright red jacket is embroidered. "Johnny" is embroidered in white on the left chest, on the right chest is "WLW Coors All Stars" in white. On the right sleeve is a baseball-like patch which has the "baseball's" stitches in red thread. The patch reads, 700 WLW TV-5. On the left sleeve is another "baseball" patch, and the lettering reads, "Coors/Johnny Bench/Distributing Co." In the collar is a Holloway manufacturer's tag which shows the size as XL. The back has six white stars, and lettering in white reading, "Bench", in scripted embroidery. On the lower inside left front tail is "Bench #5", hand-printed in black marker by an unknown hand. A working zipper goes down the front. The snazzy, sharp-looking jacket is in EXCELLENT condition, and it provides great ties to the Cincinnati Reds' legendary catcher.
