Presented is a Cy Young autograph request typed letter, signed on back by the Hall of Fame right-hander who achieved 511 wins, the most in baseball history. Young pitched from 1890-1911, for five Major League teams, mostly for the Cleveland Spiders and the Boston Americans. He pitched three no-hitters, one of them a perfect game. He was a key part of the 1903 World Champions. The Cy Young Award is given every season to the best pitcher in each league. The request letter is undated and written on 6x10.5" paper. The undated, typed letter is on printed stationery of Bob Turner, of Peoria, Arizona. In part, the letter reads: "Dear Mr. Young, For some time I have enjoyed reading about you in various sports magazines. Some day I hope to perhaps see you in person.... I am enclosing a stamp for you (sic) reply as I realize that many such requests could run into money./Sincerely, Bob Turner, with Turner's signature in blue fountain ink. On the back of the autograph request, in black, ballpoint ink, Young has scripted, in very large writing, Cy Young. The two-signature typed letter comes with a JSA LOA, Certification #BB53526.
