Presented is a Roberto Clemente signed photograph as part of a display. The Hall of Fame right fielder played from 1955-72, all with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Clemente had a .317 lifetime batting average and won four National League batting crowns. He was a 12-time Gold Glover and was an important part of two Pittsburgh World Championships. The 15-time All-Star reached an even 3,000 hits near the end of the 1972 regular season, and on New Year's Eve of that year, he died in a tragic plane crash as he was flying as a passenger on an airplane that was scheduled to deliver emergency supplies to victims of a Nicaraguan earthquake. The offered photo measures 6.75x8.75". Using blue ink from a ballpoint pen, Clemente signed and inscribed the photo as, Best Regards Roberto Clemente. The photo has been matted and framed to 11x13". The signed photo comes with a PSA/DNA LOA, with a Certification #Q05873. The photo has an affixed PSA/DNA sticker with the aforementioned Cert. number. The photograph, as well as the autograph, have both faded somewhat from the passage of time, and the photo has some minor foxing, but the autograph is still clearly legible.
