Presented is a Denton True "Cy" Young cut signature on an image of a baseball. The Hall of Fame right-hander was given the nickname of Cyclone, later shortened to Cy, because when he threw a ball against a grandstand fence, it looked as if a Cyclone had damaged the fence. Young pitched for 22 seasons in the Major Leagues: Cleveland Spiders, NL (1890-98), St. Louis Perfectos/Cardinals, NL (1899-1900), Boston Red Sox, AL (1901-08), Cleveland Naps, AL (1909-11), Boston Rustlers, NL (1911). Early in his career, Young pitched every other day on many occasions. He won 511 Major League games, still the most in history. He threw straight over-the-top, three-quarters, sidearm, and submarined the ball, and he believed that throwing the ball with a variety of arm angles kept his arm from injury. The baseball image has a diameter of 2.5". Young signed the ball in blue ink. The cut signature has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC AUTO.
