Rare program issued for a game between the New York Yankees and St. Louis Browns, held on July 12, 1941, at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis, in which Joe DiMaggio hit safely in his 51st consecutive game. The fold-over program, which is dated 1941 on the front cover, features the pre-printed lineups for both teams on the interior scorecard, including DiMaggio batting fourth for the Yankees. Neatly scored in pencil to record the Yankees' 7-5 win. As noted here, DiMaggio had two hits in the game, a double and a single, to extend his record-setting consecutive-game hitting streak to 51 games. The original owner also recorded the feat by writing, "DiMaggio hit for his 51st game" in pencil below the Browns' scoresheet. The date, attendance, and temperature are also recorded on the interior in pencil. Many years later DiMaggio signed the program vertically in blue Sharpie just to the right of the Yankees' scoresheet. The program (7.25x11.25") displays moderate handling wear and remains in Very Good condition. Full LOA from PSA, which has graded the DiMaggio signature GEM MINT 10.
