Displayed is a Ted Williams "406" inscribed limited edition baseball (271/1941), as the 406 reference is for the Hall of Famer's batting average when he became the last man to hit .400, achieving that hallowed mark in 1941, hence the "1941" Williams' inscription on the offered ball. Ted Williams was a larger-than-life personage who could seemingly do whatever he wanted on a world-class level. In his 19-year Major League career, all with the Boston Red Sox, he hit a lifetime .344, with 521 home runs, and he did all of this despite missing nearly five playing seasons because of military duty as a Marine fighter pilot in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. His war service brings up another area of superb skill for Williams, in addition to baseball; he was an amazing pilot who flew as a wingman for future astronaut John Glenn during the Korean Conflict. Williams also was a world-class fisherman who knew more about fishing than practically anyone on the planet. The offered is an Official American League Ball (Brown). Williams used blue ink from a ballpoint to neatly inscribe and sign "Ted Williams 406" on the sweet spot. The ball comes with a UDA sticker and a UDA Certification, #UDW21691. The ball is NEAR MINT, and the Williams' autograph is 8.5/10.
