Majestic pair of early 1900s leather gloves with the mushrooming forearms that go on forever. The manufacturer’s tag is present but the name is not legible. There are holes in the palms of the gloves but are otherwise in very good condition. The leather is still nice and supple. Gloves are beautifully shadow box framed with an original pen & ink drawing by boxing cartoonist Bob Edgren, who is most famous for his feud with gunfighter Bat Masterson. Appearing in the New York Evening World, it shows Ketchel grappling with Mike (Twin) Sullivan during their 32-rounder (February 22, 1908). 14x20” and laminated. Also, comes with his vintage athletic supporter in leather and cloth. This is from the same era and definitively belonged to Stanley Ketchel.
