Tony Gwynn San Diego Padres signed game used bat is a Rawlings model 256S dating from the 1993 labeling period. Per the included PSA LOA, Gwynn used only Louisville Sluggers during the '93 season, though this is deemed to have been game used during spring training, making it a rarity. Ash bat is uncracked and displays excellent use including a white grip a few inches up from the knob, pine tar residue, and bat rack paint transfers. Measuring 33.0" and weighing 29.3 ounces, the bat has been signed by Gwynn in 9/10 silver Sharpie just above the barrel stamp. Number 19 is written on both knob and cup in silver Sharpie on a black marker background; bat dimensions of 33-30 are on the knob in black marker, with 2565 in black marker in the cup. So prolific was the Padres' hitman - with a .338 career batting average over 20 MLB seasons - that the annual award for the National League's batting average leader was named in his honor in 2016. Even though a preseason model, this Hall of Fame specimen was used by one of the greatest pure hitters to ever swing the lumber. Comes with full PSA/DNA LOA grading the bat as GU 9 (note that the grade covers the bat only and no opinion is offered on the signature).
