Displayed is an amazing replica eye-catching, painted statue of a circa 1916 New York Giants baseball player. The statue was created in an unknown year in much more recent times and designed to replicate a generic player of a circa 1916 New York Giants team. The '16 Giants were managed by Hall of Famer John McGraw, one of the sport's great, strategic innovators. The team had a record of 86-66-3. Future Hall of Famers on the '16 Giants: Christy Mathewson, legendary pitcher with 373 wins; George "High Pockets" Kelly, first baseman; Ed Roush, outfielder; Bill McKechnie, third baseman who made the Hall of Fame primarily for his managing. In the era in which the offered statue is designed to replicate, the New York Giants were one of baseball's preeminent teams. The statue is made of what appears to be plastic, and it weighs 12 lbs. It stands 40" tall and has an attached plastic base measuring approx. 11x13". On the base is a plate, approx. 0.75x4.3", that reads, "#102 Legends I." The painting is vivid and very detailed, complete with great vintage touches, such as the handlebar mustache, high-topped shoes, and pillbox hat. There are small chips on the brim of the cap, the base, and a few other areas. There is slight paint loss of the right stirrup and in a few other places. Overall, the statue is in good condition, and it makes a great display for any sports room.
