Presented is a 1984 Detroit Tigers World Champions ring box, actually rarer than the 1984 World Series ring itself. The Detroit Tigers had a 104-58 regular-season record in '84, and swept the Kansas City Royals, 3-0 in games in the AL Championship Series. Detroit went on to win the '84 World Series, 4-1 in games, against the San Diego Padres. The Tigers were managed by Hall of Fame skipper Sparky Anderson. Other Hall of Famers on the team were pitcher Jack Morris and shortstop Alan Trammell. In '84, Morris had a 19-11 record, and Trammell hit .314, with 14 homers and 69 RBIs. Other key Tigers players that season: Catcher Lance Parrish, who belted 33 home runs and had 98 RBIs; second baseman Lou Whitaker, who hit .281, with 13 home runs; outfielder Kirk Gibson, who hit 27 home runs and had 91 RBIs; closer Willie Hernandez, 9-3, with a 1.92 ERA and 32 saves. This offering is one of the boxes in which Tigers players received their World Champions ring. The ring box measures 2.6x3.3", with a height of 1.25". The box has a raised Tigers' logo on top, with wording, DETROIT TIGERS WORLD SERIES. The Balfour logo is inside the box, and machine printed inside is, Jewelry's Finest Craftsmen. It is in NRMT condition.
