Displayed is a 1982 Jim Ed Rice Boston Red Sox Louisville Slugger bat that was game used by the Hall of Fame outfielder. Rice played his entire 16-year career with the Red Sox: (1974-89). He hit .298 lifetime, with 382 home runs and 1,451 RBIs. The 8-time All-Star was a 2-time Silver Slugger and the 1978 AL MVP when he hit .315 and led the AL in hits (213), homers (46), RBIs (139), slugging (.600) and OPS (.970). In the '82 season, when the offered bat was game used, Rice hit .309, with 24 homers and 97 RBIs when the Red Sox finished in 3rd place. The Louisville Slugger bat is 36.0" long and weighs 33.3 ounces. The ash bat, with a flame burned finish, shows heavy use, with a cracked handle. White tape, with a loose end, is on the lower handle. Pine tar remnants are on the bat's lower half. Ball dents and ball marks are on the upper barrel. Etched on the barrel: "GENUINE S2/JIM ED RICE/LOUISVILLE SLUGGER." A PSA Cert. Number sticker is on the lower barrel. The bat comes with a PSA/DNA Letter of Grading and Authenticity (Cert: 1B331417), with a PSA bat grade of GU 9.
