Displayed is a 1983 Baltimore Orioles' World Champion team-signed Official American League ball, with thirty (30) signatures. Managed by Joe Altobelli, the '83 Orioles went 98-64 in the regular season for first place in the AL East Division. Baltimore defeated the Chicago White Sox by 3-1 in games in the AL Championship Series, and then won the World Series, 4-1 in games, over the Philadelphia Phillies. The key Orioles hitters that season were Cal Ripken Jr. and Eddie Murray. Ripken batted .318, with 27 home runs and 102 RBIs, and Murray hit .306, with 33 home runs and 111 RBIs. Southpaw Scott McGregor led the Baltimore pitchers with an 18-7 record and a 3.18 ERA. Key signatures: Joe Altobelli (manager - SS), Dennis Martinez, Dan Ford, Al Bumbry, Rick Dempsey, Tippy Martinez, John Lowenstein, Gary Roenicke, Mike Boddicker, and Ken Singleton.
