Framed display featuring a 1985 Kentucky Derby $2 pari-mutuel betting ticket issued for Derby winner Spend a Buck, together with the Kentucky Derby preview pages taken from the race day program. This display originates from the personal collection of Dennis Diaz, owner of Spend A Buck. Spend a Buck won the 111th running of the Kentucky Derby in 1985 by 5 1/4 lengths, while also posting the fastest first mile in Derby history. The winning $2 ticket offered here would have paid $10.20 at the time, as Spend a Buck easily defeated the favorite Chief's Crown, who finished third. Both the ticket (4.25x2") and program pages (8x9") have been affixed to cardboard mount and are otherwise in apparent Near Mint condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 15x19".
