Outstanding circa 1910s Type I image of Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson measures 4.5x6.25". Headshot pictures the Galveston Giant up close, well-dressed as always with trademark bowler hat. Back has handwritten caption in French that loosely translates to, "Jack Johnson, boxing champion of the world, who is fighting Jim Jeffries on July 4 for the title of champion of the world." Verso also has pencil notation and copyright stamps. The only real blemish is a crease to the top right corner, an amazing specimen considering its vintage. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic.
