Presented is a rare, 1957-58 Chicago Black Hawks canvas team jacket. In '57-'58, the Black Hawks finished third in the regular season in the six-team NHL, and in the playoffs the Black Hawks lost in the semi-finals, 4-2 in games, to the Montreal Canadiens. Hall of Famers on that Black Hawks team: Glenn Hall, Bobby Hall, Ted Lindsay, Stan Mikita, Pierre Pilote, and Al Arbour (as a builder for his coaching). The canvas jacket is tan, with red, white, and black cotton trim. The jacket has a flag tag inside the inseam for size "42." There is Rayson Sports tagging in the collar. There is an amazing, colorful wool Black Hawk patch on the left front. There are small moth holes on the lower front waist, on the cotton lower left sleeve (4), and in the collar. The jacket has a few small holes in the canvass, and a few light stains, and there are loose threads, and some pilling on the cotton. The jacket sports seven red buttons down the front. Despite some minor imperfections, the 65-year-old jacket is in good condition, and its canvas material hearkens back to vintage days in the NHL.
