One of our darker sides. Program from the championship of the NCAA when the tiny school City College of New York went all the way to become the only team to win both the NIT and NCAA championships. This celebration would be short-lived when the following season the Manhattan DA would arrest members of this very season and it became the first of the basketball point shaving scandals. Some players even served jail time. (See the wonderful HBO documentary City Dump). Program is heavily foxed on the cover and has a vertical crease o/w EX. Nice vintage NYC clipping comes with it as well. Note: The “legendary” Adolph Rupp, of the U of Kentucky, (a team that CCNY beat the year before in a 89-50 rout), remarked after the scandal that it was confined to "Jews and niggers" and New York. That was before two of his players were caught doing the same thing.
