Special Cincinnati Reds "St. Patrick's Day" home uniform worn by outfielder Ken Henderson in 1979. The white knit jersey, with green trim around the collar and sleeves, features the Reds team-logo patch on the left breast and displays the number 19 on the right breast and reverse. The name "Henderson" is lettered on the reverse, directly above the number. Because this uniform was specially produced for use on St. Patrick's Day, all letters and numerals are applied in green tackle twill, while the team-logo patch consists of white and green tackle twill. A green "three-leaf" clover patch adorns the left sleeve. A Rawlings 44 label is located on the interior right front tail, adjacent to which is a flag tag reading Set 1 1979. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated annually on March 17th. That date fell on a Saturday in 1979, which was the day the Reds hosted the Kansas City Royals at the club's Tampa, Florida, spring training facility. The jersey is original as issued, displaying moderate wear, including a few loose threads. 1979 marked just the second time the Reds wore special St. Patrick's Day uniforms, making the offered garment both a scarce and early example.
