Addendum (1/26 - 10:50 am). Please note our original title and description for this lot were inaccurate with regard to the amount Troy ounces of silver per ingot and its value. We have made the necessary corrections and both the title and description now reflect the proper amounts and values.

Since 1964, the Franklin Mint has been well regarded for its unique issues - often using precious metals - as well as its detail, craftsmanship, and presentation. This splendid case of 36 individual silver ingots representing the first 36 Presidents of the United States comes in its original 17x11" wood case, with plate on the lid reading "Limited Edition - Franklin Mint Presidential Ingots - Struck by the Franklin Mint expressly for - THOMAS J. WITTENBERG." Inside, the individual ingots are set elegantly in a blue felt base with 1000 grains of silver apiece (1.927 Troy ounces per ingot; 69.372 Troy ounces total), and carry the name and likeness of Presidents George Washington through Richard Nixon (note that Nixon was the 37th President; Grover Cleveland is the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms and is listed twice on one piece). Given the current market price of silver ($22.64 per troy ounce, as of January 25, 2024), each piece translates to $43.62 in silver alone, for a total of $1,570. Box is EX, ingots are NRMT.
