Colorful goalie mask was game-worn by Washington Capitals' popular netminder Olaf Kolzig during Alexander Ovechkin's rookie season of 2005-2006. Hybrid cage-style mask is clearly from the Caps' "Screaming Eagle" logo era as evidenced by the bronze paint on the bars of the mask, which also fills stars around the edge of the mask. Under the cage, the chin is painted with a stylized "'Zilla" and nice use includes some chipping at the edges. Backplate is painted with the names of his three children - Ashlyn, Kendall, and Carson - with the right side bearing an autism ribbon in honor of Carson. Bottom of the plate reads his widely-known nickname, "Olie the Goalie;" the artist and maker have signed in gold Sharpie with an '05 year designation inside, all padding is intact and shows nice use. Interior labels include two for "The Pro's Choice" and one Made in America. Kolzig played all but eight of his 719 career games for Washington, registering 301 victories with an impressive 2.70 goals against average. Comes with Bauer goalie mask bag.
