Pair of rare Cincinnati Reds pennants issued, respectively, for the 1939 and 1940 World Series. Each of these pennants, which were sold either at the stadium or by local vendors, are notable for the fine state of preservation. Both display only light wear and are in EX-MT to NM-MT condition overall. 1) 1939. The red-felt pennant (26" in length), with white graphics, features a generic image of a ballplayer and the Reds' team logo, to the right of which is lettered "National League Champs 1939." 2) 1940. The blue-felt pennant (28 inches in length), with gold graphics, reads "World Series 1940" and features two scrolls listing, respectively, the rosters for both the Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers. A small generic batter appears in the lower left.
