Featured is a very rare, original PSA Type I photo from Ted Williams' 1939 rookie year, taken by no less than legendary photographer Charles Conlon. Measuring 3.75x5.5", the black and white photo shows Williams in the follow-through of his splendid swing. Williams is clad in his Boston Red Sox road uniform and the familiar lighted archways of venerable Comiskey Park dot the background, which is fitting as the otherwise-blank back bears the mark of RDM Studio in Chicago, which was Burke's studio. The corners display slight wear as can be expected, but the central image is clean and crisp. Encapsulated by PSA as Original Autograph, Type I Authentic, c. 1939.
