Perhaps the least known of all the New York Yankees managers, Johnny Neun skippered the team for just 14 games at the end of 1946, replacing Bill Dickey and then moving on to Cincinnati, where he managed the following two years, compiling a 125-143 career record. This 11-inch-wide solid Sterling Silver plate with raised Yankees logo on the top is in NRMT condition and contains Sterling maker's mark on the back. The engraved plate reads: YANKEES-DETROIT OLD TIMERS - HONORING NEW HALL OF FAME MEMBERS JOSEPH V. McCARTHY SAMUEL E. CRAWFORD - YANKEE STADIUM - JULY 27, 1957 - JOHN NEUN. Primarily a reserve first baseman for the Tigers and Braves between 1925-31, Neun hit a respectable .289 and made history by becoming the seventh player to record an unassisted triple play on May 31, 1927.
