Exceptional circa 1950s baseball contains 14 bold autographs - all but one from a Hall of Famer. Official American League (Harridge) ball has clear and dark stampings and has slightly toned to a cream color but remains bright and clean. Signatures include: Rogers Hornsby, Gabby Hartnett, Al Simmons, Bill Dickey, Paul Waner, Pie Traynor, Carl Hubbell, Bill Terry, Dazzy Vance, Mickey Cochrane, Ed Walsh, Lefty Grove, Jimmy Foxx, and Hooks Wiltse (note that Wiltse is the lone non-HoFer, the sweet spot has been left blank, and all the signatories are now deceased). Likely signed at an Old Timers game or function, comes with full PSA LOA with an 8/10 grade for the autos, and also comes with a letter from the Ed Rommel family stating that this was from Rommel's personal collection, making it very likely that this is a one-of-a-kind piece. Rommel was just the third person to have both appeared (with the Philadelphia A's) and umpired (in 1943 and '47) in the World Series, adding more great history to this offering.
