Pair of New York Mets jerseys worn by Willie Randolph during his first season as manager of the club in 2005. Randolph has personally attested to their game-used status by inscribing each in black marker (grading 9/10) on the reverse: "Willie Randolph Game Used." Additionally, Randolph has provided a one-page typed-signed letter for both jerseys in which he further attests to their provenance. One of the jerseys is a white alternate example, while the other is a blue-mesh batting practice jersey. Both of the size 46 jerseys were manufactured by Majestic and are identically lettered, with Mets across the front, the number 12 on the front and reverse, and "Randolph" lettered on the reverse. A Mets logo patch appears on the left sleeve of each garment. The white alternate jersey is tagged on the interior left front tail, including a flag tag reading "Set 1 2005." The blue batting practice jersey bears the Majestic label on the left front tail. Both jerseys are original, as issued. The white jersey shows heavy use, with pilling to the fabric and minor soil stains. The blue batting practice jersey displays light-to-moderate wear. 2005 marked the first of Randolph's four Major League managerial seasons, all of which were at the helm of the Mets. The club finished with a record of 83-79 in 2005, which merited a third-place finish in the National League East Division. The next year Randolph guided the Mets to a first-place finish, losing to the Cardinals in seven games in the NLCS.
