Two-page handwritten letter (on both sides of a single sheet), undated, signed by Jackie Robinson. PSA has encapsulated the letter and certified both the signature and handwriting as "Authentic." In his letter, on "Pyramid Hotel and Investment Company" letterhead, Robinson writes to his agent Martin Stone and discusses several topics, including his desire to no longer command press headlines. In part: "About two weeks ago I had a call from some fellow from Los Angeles asking of my interest in doing a national T.V. show. I naturally said yes, but referred him to your office. . . . If you know of a reasonable carpenter up your way let me know. We have a chance to get rid of our house if we do that will be a big help. I guess you have noted the lack of press space as far as I am concerned. I told all the press anything controversial I wanted no part of. I am sure its the best way and I am working hard to stay clear of any trouble. It's going to be difficult but I've been there before." Signed simply "Jackie" in blue ink (grading 9/10). The letter (8.5x11") displays two horizontal folds, as well as two notebook holes and a paperclip impression along the top border.
